Phil Asher is one of the cornerstones of Londons ever changing house scene, as a producer, label founder and club Dj. His constant involvement with house music in all it guises has kept him highly respected by his peers from all sections of the music fraternity.

Phil has been a resident on Londons club circuit, since sneaking his way onto the decks in 1991 at Delirium, one of Londons earliest house venues. Since then his legendary smooth mixing and diverse selection has graced dancefloors across the globe.

His interest in music was passed on from his father who worked at a record store and would regularly bring home a selection of the latest release. Enterprisingly Phil would sell some of these to friends at school, or regularly setting up a stall at the school fairs with his father. His passion for music continued and Phil worked at both Quaff Records and Vinyl Solution.

Through the 90s his consistent stream of releases and remixes helped to establish him as one of the more interesting and dynamic producers at the time.

This expanded over the years working under a selection of different pseudonyms, including Phlash, Electric Soul and Phoojun. Alongside Luke McCarthy, and a selection of others he formed the Restless Soul Production team, who were key architects in bridging the gap between broken beat and house music. During the noughties Restless soul were an in demand production team working on projects for Bah Samba, The Fatback Band and Shuya Okino.

While working with Chillifunk Records Phil produced and wrote for Vanessa Freeman and worked with Nathan Haines on his first two albums. Under the alias of Focus, Phil released his second album “Sweet & Sour” in 2002 which featured Mark De Clive Lowe and Kaidi Tatham. His most recent LP Phlash and friends – Deep Electronic Sounds featured Omas keith from SA- RA creative partners plus additional production from Dj Zinc.

In addition to his constant production schedule hes still promotes his long running club Inspiration Information which on a monthly basis features a guest line up. Phil has definitely flown the flag for new for new dance music throughout his career. His influence on music has been apparent in a so many different sub genres from garage to broken beat. He is without a doubt a statesmen of West Londons house scene that has influenced music across the globe.
