HOUSE

“Born under the auspices of Sonar Kollektiv, Innervisions ventured off on its own with founder Steffen Berkhahn aka Dixon (and later Frank and Kristian of Âme as well) at the helm. Although there is no one Innervisions sound, it’s fair to say the label releases deep and innovative house music from a stable of in-house artists including Âme, Henrik Schwarz, Marcus Worgull and Tokyo Black Star. Forward-thinking 12″s from Laurent Garnier, Château Flight, Stefan Goldmann, and Culoe De Song are further signs of the label’s stringent quality control; compilations like Muting the Noise and the Innervisions - curated The Grandfather Paradox (for BBE) underline how their vision extends beyond the dance floor. And with the launch of the Innervisions web shop they’ve begun sharing their taste-making insights with fans directly.” –Little White Earbuds

In early 2005 at a time when the minimal sound was taking over dance music, Dixon set out to rebuild house music by starting the Innervisions imprint alongside his house night called Innercity at the Weekend club in Berlin which championed a Deep-House to Disco sound. Motivated by the high quality of demos he and Âme received through the club, Innervisions started as a sub-label for Jazzanova’s label Sonar Kollektiv for the first few releases. The tracks "Rej" by Âme, "Where We At feat. Derrick Carter" by Henrik Schwarz/Âme/Dixon and "Sleepy Hollow" by Stefan Goldmann were extraordinarily successful.

By mid 2006 the collaboration with Sonar Kollektiv ended and Innervisions became not only a successful label in its own right, but also a publishing and merchandise company. The label release a handful of outstanding EPs each year, recently including carefully selected gems from Emmanuel Jal, Tête and Osunlade.

The label supplements fans’ growing demand for quality experimental house with elaborate, epic and unusual gigs. Be it through DJ-ing or live, the labels’ in-house artists Âme, Dixon and Henrik Schwarz perform in the most legendary clubs (Panormama Bar, Tresor, Space, Air, Fabric), and esteemed music venues (Royal Festival Hall, Roundhouse, Detroit Electronic Music Festival) conducting all kinds of music experiments: 4 hour DJ sets, live scoring of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari at the Roundhouse, jamming with jazz pianist Bugge Wesseltoft, or their real time group jam project ‘Critical Mass’.

Innervisions releases are now available exclusively through Muting The Noise, a web shop run by the label that launched in 2011. Muting the Noise functions as the sole distributor for Innervisions' two sub-labels, one of which is also called Muting the Noise (the other is Philomena). As a reaction to ‘throw-away culture’, the website is also an outlet for quality clothes and various other designer products, along with records hand-picked by Kristian Beyer of Âme.

We publish Innervisions for the UK and Eire.
