Sabrina Malheiros is part of a wave of new Brazilian talent that have been introduced to the world by Far Outs catalogue. Her bossa influenced material in a modern contemporary style has elevated her as the nu bossa star of the 21st century.

Sabrina came has been destined for a successful musical career, her family has a strong lineage in the foundations of Brazilian popular music. Her grandfather played with Sergio Mendes and her father Alex Malheiros is one of the founding members of Azymuth. She often cites her family environment as one of the most important influences in her music.

She recalls early experiences of recording as a toddler in her fathers studio. Her first official recording was at age 7 on her fathers solo material, and with Azymuth at age 11. Studying at the Vila-lobos School of Music in Rio de Janeiro, introduced her to Rios vibrant music scene.

After working with several different groups in Rio, Sabrina decided to pursue a solo project. The idea was presented to Far Out Recordings founder, Joe Davis while working with Alex Malheiros. He felt it was the ideal project for the label and recruited Daniel Maunick to produce Sabrinas debut album, Equilibria. This was well received by the media with exceptional reviews in all the leading papers and magazines.

Her sophomore album New Morning (2008) was a development from her debut with more of an organic feel too it. It was reissued in 2009 re-mastered and repackaged featuring alternate production from Nicola Conte, IG Culture among others. Heralded as one of last summers must have albums; the perfect accompaniment to long summer days and warm evenings.

Sabrina fits perfectly into the fine tapestry of artists on Far Outs records, and is perfect to take the label deep into the 21st century with a new sound for fresh ears.
