More sad news for lovers of original Jamaican music is that Lynn Taitt has died in Canada. He had been suffering from leukaemia for some time and finally succumbed last Wednesday (20th January) in Montreal, the city he had made his home. He was 75 and had remained actively involved in music until he became too ill.
Westbury has been proudly representing Lynn’s publishing interests for more than 5 years.
This death, following so soon after the death of Yabby You, underlines the fact that the grandfathers and originators of Reggae Music, one of the most influential of the world’s musics, will not be with us forever. Catch them while you can!
The Jamaica Gleaner has published its account of the man: http://www.jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20100127/ent/ent2.html
as has the Jamaican Observer: http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/entertainment/LYNN-TAIT_7347330
